Gowribidanur Fish Farmer Producer Company Limited

We operate out of No 01, Vishwa Shed in Gandhi Nagar, over in Manchenahalli. It’s a simple shed, nothing like the big offices you see in the city. Gowribidanur is a good place for what we do, and the community here is very tight. We are all about fish farming. It’s a job that keeps you on your toes because if the water goes bad or the oxygen gets low, you can lose everything in a night. Most of us have been doing this for years, mostly on our own until we decided to group up. The shed is where we store some equipment and meet to talk about the business. It can get a bit crowded when everyone shows up at once for the weekly meeting. We don't have a secretary or anyone fancy answering the phones. We just handle the books ourselves between our shifts at the ponds. Usually, you’ll find one of us there covered in a bit of mud or smelling like the tanks. We talk to the local guys about how to get the best yield from their water. It’s very practical work. We don't have time for marketing talk or big promises that don't mean anything to a working man. We just want to make sure the fish stay healthy and the prices at the market stay fair so we can pay our bills and keep going. It’s a quiet life in Manchenahalli.
