Gauribidanur Sericulture Farmers

We’re the Gauribidanur Sericulture Farmers, located at 871, near the Sadara Hostel in V V Puram, Gauribidanur. This is where we handle the business of silk farming. It’s a very specific kind of work, and it keeps us on our toes. We spend a lot of time with the mulberry leaves and the silkworms. There’s always a lot of activity, especially when it’s time to sell. We aren't professionals in suits; we are people who know the smell of the silkworm sheds and the feel of the silk. It’s a long tradition in Gauribidanur, and we’re just carrying it on. We don't use a lot of fancy language to describe what we do. It’s just farming, but with worms instead of just plants. We deal with the ups and downs of the market just like anyone else. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s a struggle.
