Being located at 37F on Velachery Main Road puts Vu Foods right in the middle of a lot of activity. Vijay Nagar is a busy area of Chennai, and there’s always something going on outside our doors. Inside, we’re focused on getting our food products out the door. We aren’t some massive factory; we’re a smaller setup that values doing things the right way. The heat in Velachery can be something else, so we spend a lot of our budget on keeping the place ventilated. It’s a lot of manual labor, really. Sorting, weighing, and packing take up most of our hours. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to tell us how to sound professional. We just talk like we do every day. Most of the staff has been with us for a while, so we’ve become a bit of a work family. We eat lunch together and complain about the traffic on the main road. It’s a simple business, but it’s ours. We’ve had some tough times, especially when the rains flooded the streets a few years back, but we cleaned up and kept going. We focus on the daily tasks and try not to get too ahead of ourselves. If the orders are filled and the quality is okay, then it’s been a good day. That’s pretty much how we see things at our little spot in Chennai. We just keep our heads down and work.
