Vijay G Solartec

Our place is at No. 75/67 in the Mahalakshmi Complex, right on Kulakarai Street. Thirumullaivoyal is a quiet enough area, at least compared to the city center. We spend our time here dealing with solar equipment for Vijay G Solartec. It’s not a huge setup, just a few rooms where we keep our tools and the parts we need. The sun hits the front of the complex pretty hard in the afternoon, which I guess is fitting for what we do. We started this because we knew a bit about solar and wanted to work for ourselves. Most days involve talking to people about their setups and trying to fix things that aren't working right. The stairs in the complex are a bit steep, so moving heavy boxes is a workout. We don’t have any polished brochures or a big sales pitch. We just explain how the panels work and what needs to be done. The tea lady downstairs knows our order by heart now. We’ve been in this street long enough to know all the other shop owners. It’s a simple life, really. We come in, check the schedule, and see who needs help with their solar stuff. Sometimes we’re out on sites, and other times we’re just here organizing the wires and connectors. It’s a bit messy sometimes, but we get through the work. We’re just local folks trying to make a living with what we know.
