Vignesh Driving School

This is our Vignesh Driving School branch in Jawahar Nagar. We’re at number 7, quite close to the State Bank ATM here as well. It seems like we have a thing for being near ATMs, but it really helps people find us. The area here in Chennai 600082 has its own rhythm. The roads are a bit different than the main city center, but you still have to watch out for the cows and the occasional stray dog. We’ve been teaching people how to drive for a long time. Our instructors are local guys who know every pothole and shortcut in Jawahar Nagar. When a student first comes in, they’re usually pretty stiff and worried about hitting something. We just tell them to breathe and take it slow. The office is just a simple room where we keep the logs and the registration forms. There’s usually a fan spinning overhead and a few plastic chairs for people to wait in. We don’t do anything fancy. It’s just about getting into the car and practicing the turns and the reverse parking until it becomes second nature. Sometimes the heat in Chennai gets to us, but the windows stay rolled down and we keep moving. Every time a student passes their test at the RTO, it’s a good day for us. We like being part of this neighborhood and helping our neighbors get mobile. It's a steady, honest way to make a living without any complicated gimmicks.
