Venkatesan Stores

Venkatesan Stores is tucked away at 145/8, right along the Chennai Bypass Road. Being in Amman Nagar means we get a mix of people living nearby and others just passing through on the highway. The road is always humming with the sound of cars and buses. It can be quite a noisy place to spend the whole day, but you get used to it after a few weeks. The shop itself is pretty small, just enough room for the counters and a few aisles of goods. We do not really have a fancy display or anything like that. Things are just put where they fit. I usually spend the morning checking what we ran out of the day before and making lists. It is a lot of work keeping up with the demand when the traffic is heavy. Sometimes the neighbors come in just to get out of the sun for a bit. We carry mostly the stuff people need for their daily cooking or cleaning. It is a straightforward business. No big team, just us handling the customers one by one. The Amman Nagar area has grown a lot lately, so there are always new faces popping in. Still, the regulars are the ones who keep the place going. We just try to stay stocked up and keep the doors open on time. There is always a stack of empty crates near the entrance waiting to be picked up.
