My Grocery Needs

Our grocery store is at No. 29 on Bhudha Perumal Street. It’s right off Mount Road, which is always packed with traffic and people. We have a small shop front where we keep the essentials that people need every day. It’s a narrow street, so deliveries can be a bit of a pain sometimes, but we make it work. I’m usually behind the counter or back in the storeroom trying to find space for more bags of rice or crates of goods. It’s a local shop, so we see the same faces every morning when people come in for their daily items. The shelves are always a bit crowded because we try to fit in as much as we can. We don’t have fancy lighting or those automatic doors. It’s just a regular shop where you walk in and grab what you need. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty with the Mount Road traffic nearby, so we’re always cleaning the counters. We stay open late most nights because that’s when people are coming home from work. It’s a busy life, and there’s always something to restock or a customer to help. We don’t do much fancy marketing. We just keep the door open and make sure we have the basics on hand for the neighborhood. It’s just a simple, local grocery business that keeps us on our feet all day long. We know most of our regulars by their first name now.
