Techno - Plast India

Down in Chintadripet, specifically at 135-A on the second floor of Swamy Naicken Street, you’ll find us at Techno - Plast India. Being on the second floor means we do a lot of carrying things up and down those narrow stairs, which keeps us pretty fit whether we like it or not. The street outside is always buzzing with people and scooters, and the sounds of the market drift up through our windows all day long. We work with plastics, mostly small parts and components that go into bigger machines or household items. It’s a tight space, so we have to keep things very organized, or we’d never be able to move around without tripping over a box. We have a few old fans that keep the air moving, but it still gets warm when the machines have been running for six or seven hours straight. We don’t really do much in the way of advertising or self-promotion. Most of our work comes from people who know us or from someone who was told to come find us in this building. Chintadripet is an old part of the city, and we feel like we fit right in with the other small shops and workshops around here. Sometimes we stay late to finish a batch, and the street finally gets quiet except for a few tea stalls still open. We just take things one day at a time, making sure things are okay before we pack anything.
