Tamara Exports

We operate out of an old building called "Lakshmi" on Lloyds Road in Royapettah. It’s a well-known part of the city, and our office at number 179 has a lot of character. Tamara Exports isn’t a huge company with hundreds of employees. We are just a small group of people working out of a few rooms. The ceilings are high, and it stays relatively cool, though we still need the fans on full blast. We spend most of our time dealing with paperwork for international shipping and checking the quality of the goods we send out. There are always stacks of documents on the desks and samples of what we export sitting on the shelves. Royapettah is a busy area, but our building is slightly set back, so it’s not too loud inside. We handle everything from the initial order to the final packing right here. It’s a lot of coordination with different suppliers and transport companies. Sometimes things don’t go according to plan, like when a shipment is delayed at the port, and we just have to figure it out. We don’t use any corporate jargon or have big meetings. We just talk across the desks to get things sorted. It’s a very hands-on way of working. We’ve been in this building for quite a while now and it feels like home to us. It is just a regular office life for our small team.
