Star Furniture has been sitting here on Poonamallee Road in Avadi for quite some time now. You can find us in Vivekananda Nagar. We mostly just deal with tables, chairs, and cupboards. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving things around to make space. Some days the showroom feels crowded, but that’s just because we try to have enough options for whoever walks in. We aren't those fancy designers you see on TV. We just sell furniture that people actually use in their houses. My hands usually have a bit of dust on them from moving the wooden pieces around. We’ve seen a lot of families come through these doors. Some people want a bed, others are looking for a small stool. We don't judge. We just show them what we have on the floor. The traffic on Poonamallee Road can get pretty loud, but inside we’re usually just talking about wood types or delivery schedules. It’s a simple business. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to sell enough furniture to keep the lights on and help out the people in Avadi. Sometimes a delivery truck gets stuck in traffic and things get delayed. We just call the customer and explain. It’s a real place run by real people who get tired at the end of the day. We just try to be helpful and get the job done right.
