Mukilan Furniture

We are located at No. 1 894 on the Thiruvallur High Road, right in Gandhi Nagar. Mukilan Furniture is basically just a workshop and a small display area. You can smell the sawdust as soon as you walk in. It’s been that way since we started. We don’t have those polished floors like the big showrooms in the city. Here, it’s mostly wood shavings and the sound of hammers. We spend most of our time out back making things. It’s a bit crowded with all the timber and the half-finished chairs and tables everywhere. Sometimes customers have to squeeze past a stack of wood just to talk to us. We don’t mind, and they don’t seem to either. It’s just how a real furniture shop looks and feels. Being on the High Road means it gets pretty noisy with the buses and trucks going by all day. We’ve gotten used to shouting over the engine noise. We don’t really follow a strict schedule. If a job needs finishing, we stay late. If it’s quiet, we might close up a bit early to go home and rest. It’s a simple life. We make things that people need for their houses, and we try to do it right. We’ve seen Gandhi Nagar change a lot over the years, but we’re still here in the same spot, doing the same work. We don't need fancy signs to tell people what we do. The work speaks for itself.
