Our little shop is at 50/2 on Thambiah Road, right in the middle of West Mambalam. If you know Chennai, you know how busy this street can get with all the shops and people walking by. We’ve been here quite a while, taking photos for the local folks who need them. It’s a small space, mostly taken up by our camera gear and a few different colored backdrops. We do a lot of passport photos and the occasional family portrait when people have a special occasion. The walls are covered with some old frames and samples of work we’ve done over the years. It’s a bit cluttered, to be honest, but we know where everything is. The printer is almost always running in the back, and sometimes it gets a bit warm in here when the sun hits the front window. We don't have any big corporate staff, just a couple of us who handle the cameras and the computer for editing. We spend a lot of time retouching small spots or adjusting the brightness on the screen. It’s simple work but it keeps us on our toes. Sometimes people come in just to chat while they wait for their prints to be ready. It’s a friendly neighborhood spot and we like it that way. We aren't trying to be some high-end studio. We just take the pictures and hope people like how they look in them. That's about it for us. We keep our hours and stay here until the last customer leaves.
