Sri Murugan Stores

Sri Murugan Stores is located at No 10/18, Thirumalai Nayakan Street in the Vanumpet area of Madipakkam, Chennai. This is a residential area, so the atmosphere around the shop is usually a bit calmer compared to the main roads. We have been at this address for several years. The shop is a basic space where we keep all the essential provisions like rice, pulses, and oil. We also have a small refrigerator for milk and curd, which is very popular in the mornings. Madipakkam has grown a lot recently with many new apartment buildings, but our street still feels like a small community. I know most of my customers by their names and often know what they want before they even ask. We don't use any electronic billing machines. I just keep a notebook and a pen at the counter to tally up the bills. Sometimes the shelves look a bit disorganized because we have so many different things tucked into corners. The walls are a simple yellow, and we have a small devotional picture near the entrance. It’s not a fancy place, but it is reliable. We open the doors early in the morning so the neighbors can get their daily supplies before the day gets busy. It’s a long day of standing and weighing items, but we enjoy being a part of the daily life here in Vanumpet. We just keep things running as they always have been.
