Sree Vaduvudiamman Stores

If you walk down M S Naidu Street in Washermanpet, you will find us at No 27/8. We are Sree Vaduvudiamman Stores, and we sit right near the Napa Kalyana Mandapam. That wedding hall brings a lot of people to this street, so it’s always lively. We hear the music and see the guests in their fancy clothes while we are inside sorting through our stock. The shop is full of various items stacked up to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when we have a few people inside at once. Washermanpet is a busy neighborhood anyway, so there is never a quiet moment. We spend the morning arranging the displays and making sure everything looks okay. It’s a local shop, so we know a lot of the people who walk past every day. We talk about the local news or how the traffic is getting worse. Sometimes we have to climb up the ladder to get stuff from the top shelves, which is always a bit of a chore. We keep the doors open to let some air in, even if it brings in the street noise. It’s just us doing the daily work of running a store in a crowded part of the city. We don't have any big corporate plans, just keeping the shelves full and the lights on.
