If you are looking for South Tools, you’ll find us at No 36/14, Off Broadway High Court. We are tucked away near Errabalu Chetty Street and Singanna Naicken Street in Parrys. If you know Parrys, you know it’s a maze. The streets are thin, and it feels like everyone in the city is trying to walk through them at the same time. Our shop is right in the middle of all that chaos. We’ve been at this location for a long time, and the building has seen better days, but it’s sturdy. At South Tools, we deal with all sorts of hardware and equipment. It’s often dusty, and we have to move stacks of boxes just to find a specific wrench or a bolt sometimes. The air is thick with the smell of old paper and metal. We don’t have much room for a fancy showroom, so everything is just piled where it fits. Most of our day is spent talking to people who have been coming to this area for decades. It’s loud, it’s crowded, and it’s usually very hot, but it’s where we work. We know the tea seller on the corner and the guys at the other shops on Singanna Naicken Street. It’s a tight community in a very busy part of town. We just keep our heads down and keep the shop running as best as we can without making things more complicated than they need to be.
