Our place, Solkar Solar Industry Ltd., is located at 436 in the Sidco Industrial Estate. We’re right behind the Telephone Exchange in Ambattur. It’s an industrial area, so it gets quite loud with all the trucks and machines going all day. We’ve been here for a long time. The building itself is nothing special, just a solid workspace where we can assemble our solar components. Ambattur is a good spot for us because we’re surrounded by other people making things. It feels right to be in an industrial estate. We spend most of our time on the floor, working with the tools and the materials. We don't really sit around in suits. Most of us are in work clothes because things get a bit messy when you’re dealing with manufacturing. Sometimes the heat in the workshop is a lot, but we just keep at it. Being behind the Telephone Exchange makes it easier to tell people where we are. We’ve seen a lot of businesses come and go in Sidco, but we’ve managed to stay put at number 436. It’s a no-nonsense kind of place. We just focus on putting the units together and getting them out the door. No fancy slogans here, just a lot of hard work and keeping the machines running. It’s a simple setup but it works for us. We don't really have a receptionist or anything, so if the bell rings, one of us just wipes our hands and comes to the door.
