You can find us at Shurudhi Palace Hotel Prys on General Patters Road. It’s an old building, tucked away near Mount Road in the heart of the city. The address is a bit confusing with the old and new numbers, but most people know the 600002 area well enough. I work here at the desk and see all sorts of people coming and going. This part of Chennai is always moving. There are mechanics and shops all along this street, so it’s never really quiet. The building has been here for a long time. It has high ceilings and those old-style windows. We don't have the modern look of the newer hotels, but we keep the rooms clean and the beds made. It’s a lot of walking up and down the stairs for the staff. We don't have a big fancy lobby, just a small space where you check in and get your keys. Sometimes the street noise gets loud, but that’s just part of being in this neighborhood. We don't really have a big team, just a few of us who handle everything from the cleaning to the repairs. It’s a practical place to stay if you have business in the city. We don't try to be something we are not. It’s just an honest spot for a night’s sleep.
