Shanthosi Super Market

Shanthosi Super Market is located at 21, Minjur in the Pallikaranai area. Despite the name, we aren't one of those massive places with hundreds of employees. We are just a local shop that grew a bit over the years. We have trolleys now, which was a big change from when we just used baskets. The aisles are a little narrow, especially when we are restocking the milk or the cold drinks in the back. We carry mostly food items but also soaps, detergents, and some kitchen plasticware. The lighting inside is a bit bright, but it helps people read the labels. My wife handles the accounts while I stay on the floor making sure everything is where it should be. Pallikaranai is changing fast with new buildings, so we get a lot of new faces these days along with our old regulars. We don't do home delivery because we don't have a van, so people just walk over or come on their scooters. Sometimes the fridge for the curds makes a loud humming noise, but we are used to it by now. It is just a place to get your groceries without too much fuss. We open early and close when the street lights come on. It isn't a glamorous life, just steady work keeping the shelves filled for the neighborhood.
