Science Impex

Science Impex is located at 14 Kasi Chetty Street, though the new number is 27. We are on the first floor in Showcarpet, or Sowcarpet as most people call it. If you’ve ever been to Sowcarpet, you know how packed and narrow the streets are. It’s a maze of shops and people everywhere. Our place is right in the thick of it. We’ve been here for a long time, and the building definitely shows its age. We deal with scientific items and imports, so the office is usually filled with boxes of glassware and lab tools. It’s a bit of a squeeze to get around sometimes. There isn't any fancy decor or air conditioning that works perfectly all the time. We just have our old desks and a lot of stock. People come in from all over to find specific things they can’t get elsewhere. It’s a very traditional way of doing business where you know your neighbors and the local tea sellers. We don't have a big marketing budget or a website team to make us look like a giant corporation. We are just a local shop that’s been part of the street for years. The stairs are narrow and a bit worn out, but they’ve carried a lot of customers over the years. It’s noisy and busy, but that’s just how life is on Kasi Chetty Street. We wouldn't know what to do with a quiet office space.
