Our office is located at No.3, Vedammal Avenue, which sits in Dr. Subrayan Nagar within Kodambakkam. It is a decent area to work out of, even if the streets get a bit crowded during the morning rush. We are involved in power projects, so our daily life involves a lot of planning and looking at electrical grids or site layouts. It is a lot of coordination between different people to make sure a project actually moves forward. We are not a corporate giant with glass walls; we are just a team working out of a regular building in a residential-cum-commercial pocket of Chennai. The fans are almost always running to beat the humidity while we go over schedules and technical drawings. Most of our work happens out in the field where the actual poles and wires are, but the office at Vedammal Avenue is our home base. We spend a lot of time on the phone or responding to emails about various project stages. It can be stressful when a deadline is coming up, but we usually manage by just putting our heads down and doing the tasks. We take our lunch breaks together most days, usually getting something from the local spots nearby. It is a simple setup where we just focus on getting the power infrastructure built without making a big deal out of it.
