Saravana Flour Mill

Saravana Flour Mill is located at 46, Enmanamkondan, on Tharga Road. It’s a dusty place, as you can imagine with all the grinding going on. We spend our days turning grain into flour. The machines are loud and they’ve been around for a long time. People from around the area bring their stuff here. We just weigh it, mill it, and give it back to them. It’s a simple process. Tharga Road isn't too busy, so it’s easy to get to us. We don’t have any big staff, just a couple of us working the grinders and moving bags. You’ll usually see some white dust on our clothes and in our hair. That’s just part of the job. We’ve lived in Enmanamkondan for years. The mill has been a steady part of our lives. It’s not a fancy business. There are no computers doing the work, just old-fashioned milling with the big stones. Sometimes the belts on the machines need fixing or adjusting. We do all that ourselves. It’s a local spot where people know us by name. We don't have any big plans, just to keep the mill running as long as people need flour for their cooking. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. If you stop by, you'll hear the rumble of the motors from the street.
