You can find S K Minerals at Arumbakkam, on the 100 Ft Road which is also known as Jawaharlal Nehru Road. The address says Old 3 New 192 in Sri Sakthi Nagar. It is a very busy stretch of road, so there is always a lot of dust and the sound of horns. We have been operating from here for a good long while now. Our main thing is minerals, which means we deal with a lot of heavy bags and fine powders. The floor of the place is usually covered in a thin layer of white dust no matter how much we sweep. We don't really have a showroom because what we sell isn't for looking at, it's for using in processes. Most of our day is spent coordinating with drivers and making sure the loading happens correctly so the bags don't tear. It's a bit of a squeeze sometimes with the traffic out front, but we manage to get the lorries in and out. We are just a small group of people working here, trying to stay on top of the orders that come in. It’s a very functional environment. We have a wooden desk, a few chairs, and a telephone that rings more often than we’d like. We know the regulars by name and they know we’ll just give them the facts about what’s in stock. It’s basic, honest work in a noisy part of town.
