Thirumalai Alagar Exports

Our office is at No. 7/2 on Sripuram Second Street in Royapettah. If you know Royapettah, you know the streets can be a bit narrow and tight. We do exports, so there are always boxes and packing materials laying around the place. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we have a big shipment ready to go. We spend a lot of time on the phone with shipping agents and customs people. It’s mostly just making sure the paperwork matches what is in the crates. We don’t have a fancy showroom or a place for guests to sit. Usually, if someone comes by, they just stand near the desk while we sort things out. It’s a small operation, but we stay busy enough. We don't really have a hierarchy here; everyone just jumps in to help when a truck arrives. Sometimes we stay late when a deadline is tight, but we don't complain much about it. It’s just part of the job. We like being in this part of town because everything is close by, even if the noise is a constant thing. We focus on the daily tasks and don't worry too much about the big picture stuff. We just want to make sure the items we send out get to where they are supposed to go without any trouble. It’s just us doing our thing every day on this street.
