Royal Plaza Hotel

We've been here at Royal Plaza Hotel for a while now. It's just right across from the Koyambedu Market on E Road. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets with all the trucks and people coming in early for the vegetables. We keep things pretty straightforward here. It isn't a fancy place with a bunch of bells and whistles, just a spot to stay if you're in Chennai for work or passing through the bus terminus nearby. The building is at No 3. Some people find us because they're doing business at the market and need a place close by so they don't have to deal with more traffic than necessary. We see a lot of folks who are just tired from traveling. The rooms are what they are. We try to keep them clean and make sure the fans and lights work like they should. It's mostly local staff here who know the neighborhood well. If you need to find a specific shop or want to know what time the market starts buzzing, someone is usually around to point you in the right direction. We don't have a big corporate team or anything like that, just a few of us making sure the doors are open and guests have a bed. It gets noisy outside sometimes because of the location, but that's just Koyambedu for you. We’re just a basic hotel doing our thing for anyone needing a pillow.
