R Subbaraman & Company Pvt, Ltd. is situated in Van Gurd House, which is at 48 Second Line Beach. This is a very old part of the city, and you can really feel the history when you walk down the street. The air smells a bit like the sea because we are so close to the coast. Our office is on the second floor, and the building has these high ceilings and old-fashioned windows that don't always close quite right. We’ve been here for a long time, and the company has seen a lot of changes in the world outside these walls. Inside, though, things move at a bit of a steadier pace. We deal with a lot of paperwork and phone calls throughout the day. It’s not a flashy modern office with glass walls and fancy furniture. We have heavy wooden desks and filing cabinets that have been here for decades. There’s a certain comfort in the routine of it all. Most of the staff have been with us for years, so we’re more like a small community than just a group of employees. We don't really go in for modern marketing talk or big promises. We just go about our business in the same way we always have. The Second Line Beach area can get quite congested, but it’s a great place to be if you like being in the heart of the old city.
