Our place is at No. 1, 2nd Cross Street in Sundar Nagar. It’s part of the Ekkattuthangal Industrial Area, so there are factories and workshops all around us. We fit right in with the noise and the grease. We do bio innovations, which sounds fancy, but most of the time it’s just us tinkering with setups and testing different ideas. We have a small workshop area and a bit of a lab space. It’s not a pristine environment. There are tools laying around and half-finished projects on the benches. We like it that way because it means we’re actually making things. We don’t have a marketing department to write glossy brochures. We just talk to people plainly about what we’re building. Sometimes we stay late when a project gets interesting, and other times we’re just waiting for a part to arrive. The industrial area can be a bit grim, but it’s practical for what we do. We don’t mind the grit. We’re just trying to come up with better ways to handle biological processes. It’s a lot of trial and error. If an idea fails, we just try the next one. That’s the whole point of being here. We’re just a bunch of folks who enjoy the problem-solving side of bio-work. The street noise is constant, but once we get focused on a task, we hardly notice it anymore.
