Pandian Super Market

I run Pandian Super Market at 39, R B Road in Nehru Nagar. We are right in the Chrompet area of Tambaram. It’s a residential neighborhood, so we see the same people every single day. The shop is usually a bit of a squeeze because I try to fit as much stock as possible onto the shelves. Sometimes you have to turn sideways to get down an aisle if someone else is already there. We have everything from laundry soap to bags of rice and plastic buckets hanging from the ceiling. I spend a lot of time checking the expiry dates and making sure nothing is sitting on the shelf for too long. The air conditioning works most of the time, but when it’s really hot outside, it struggles to keep the place cool. We have two boys who help with the billing and carrying bags out to people’s scooters. It’s not a giant warehouse store, just a local supermarket where you can find what you need for your kitchen. I’m usually behind the counter, chatting with the aunties about the price of onions or how the weather is changing. We don't do home delivery with an app or anything fancy, though sometimes if an old regular lives nearby, one of the boys will drop off their groceries on his way home. It’s just a normal shop for normal people in Nehru Nagar.
