Being located near the Kalmandapam Telephone Exchange on G A Road means there is never a dull moment. Our address is Old No 93, and we have been operating out of this building in Washermanpet for a long time. The street outside is always full of life, with the sounds of the city constantly in the background. We start our day when it is still relatively cool, preparing everything for the people who stop by. It is not an easy job, standing on your feet all day and dealing with the humidity that Chennai is known for. The interior is simple and functional, designed for people who just want a place to sit and eat without any fuss. We don’t have any big signs or bright lights to draw people in. Most folks find us because they live nearby or work at the telephone exchange. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. The fans hum constantly to keep the air moving, and there is always the sound of dishes being washed in the back. It’s a straightforward business, run by people who live right here in the area. We just try to keep things moving and make sure everyone who comes in is looked after. It’s just how things are done here in 600021. Sometimes we run out of things early, but we do our best to stay stocked.
