Running Palace City Foods & Cosmetics from an apartment complex like Green Nest has its own set of quirks. We are in Block 189/10 in Anna Nagar West Extension. It's a decent area, mostly quiet except for the morning school traffic nearby. We do both food items and some cosmetic lines, which keeps the team pretty busy all week. The storage room is always packed to the door. Sometimes it smells like strong spices and other times it’s more like floral soaps or creams. It’s a strange mix of smells but we all got used to it eventually. My sister helps with the accounts because I’m honestly not very good with the computer stuff. We have a few delivery bikes that go in and out through the gate all day. The neighbors are mostly okay with our business being here as long as we don't block the driveway with our boxes. It’s not a factory, just a managed space where we package things up and handle the local orders. I’ve lived in Chennai a long time, so I know this neighborhood inside out. We started small and just stayed in this spot because it’s convenient for everyone. Sometimes the elevator in the building breaks down, and then we have to carry everything up the stairs by hand. That makes for a very long day for the boys. We don't have a fancy showroom for people to visit. It's just a practical setup for getting the daily work done. We just focus on getting the orders out.
