B. V. Jewels

Our shop is at 209 Suppermall, which is right near the Lal Bunglows on C. G. Road. Being in a mall means we have to follow the mall timings, so we are usually here from eleven in the morning until late at night. The glass front of the shop gets fingerprints on it every single day, so someone is always wiping it down with a spray. We have some nice spots for people to sit and look at the jewelry pieces. C. G. Road is always busy, especially in the evenings when everyone is out shopping and walking around. We see a lot of window shoppers who just look and walk away, but that’s fine with us. We have our regulars who come in when they need something specific for a family function. The lighting in here is very bright because we need to see exactly what we are doing with the small items. Sometimes the air conditioning gets too cold and we have to wear sweaters even in the middle of summer. We keep our inventory in the back safe and only bring out what people want to see. It’s a bit different from a street shop because it feels more enclosed and quiet. We talk to the other shop owners in the mall during our lunch breaks. We’ve been in this unit for a few years now. It’s a good spot for us to be.
