About New Indian Hardwares – Machine Tools in Chennai
We are at No 7/4 on 100 Feet Road in Vadapalani. If you know the area, you know how loud and busy it is. There is a constant stream of cars and buses going past our door. Our shop is a bit small for all the things we try to keep in it. There are boxes stacked up to the ceiling and sometimes it’s hard to find a clear path to the back. We don’t have a fancy display window or a lobby. It’s just a counter where we stand and talk to anyone who walks in. The floor is concrete and has some oil stains and scratches from the heavy hardware we move around. We’ve got a couple of old ceiling fans that squeak a bit, but they help when it gets humid. We don’t spend much time on the computer unless we have to check a price or an order. Most of our work is done by hand, moving stock and talking to the regulars. The neighborhood has changed a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed right here. We get dusty from the road and our clothes usually have a bit of dirt on them by the end of the shift. It’s honest work and we don’t try to make it sound like anything else. We don’t have a big corporate structure or fancy meetings. We just drink our tea, handle the customers, and make sure the shop is locked up tight at night.
