If you’re looking for us, we are down in the basement of Shree Sakthi Place at 70 Pondy Bazar. Being in T.Nagar means it’s always crowded outside, especially on the weekends when everyone is out shopping. Our shop is a bit tucked away, so it’s a lot quieter once you step down the stairs. We’ve got glass cases filled with all sorts of stones and pearls, though we don't always have time to polish the glass every single morning. It’s a small family business, and we’ve been at this for a long time. My uncle used to run things, and now we just keep it going. We don’t really bother with big sales or loud advertisements. Most people who find us are looking for something specific, or their mother told them to come here. We sit behind the counter, show people what we have, and let them take their time. There’s no rush here. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use the backup lights, which makes the pearls look a bit different, but we manage. It’s a simple life, looking at small things under a lamp all day. We try to keep the prices honest and the talk straightforward. T.Nagar is a loud place, but our little basement corner stays pretty peaceful most of the time.
