Mehta Enterprises

If you know Parrys, you know how busy Errabalu Chetty Street gets during the day. Our shop, Mehta Enterprises, is tucked in at number 16. It is a small space, but we have managed to cram a lot into it over the years. Most of our day is spent talking to people who walk in off the street or answering the phone when it rings. There is a lot of traffic outside, so it can get pretty loud with all the horns and people shouting. We have been in this spot for quite a long time. The shelves are high and filled with all sorts of items that we have collected and sold over the seasons. It’s not the most modern office you will ever see, but it works for what we do. We usually have a bit of a routine, opening up the shutters and dusting off the counters first thing in the morning. Sometimes we run out of space for new stock, so we have to shift things around to make it fit. It’s a bit of a puzzle every time a big delivery comes in. The tea guy comes around twice a day, which is something we always look forward to. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. People just know where we are and what we have on the shelves. It is a simple way to run a business in a very old part of the city.
