Megafoods Products Madras (P) Limited

Down in Ambattur at the Sidco Industrial Estate, things get pretty loud. We are at D-3, right in the thick of all the factories and workshops. At Megafoods Products Madras (P) Limited, the day starts early because the heat gets intense by noon. We’ve got the machines running and there is always a smell of whatever we are processing that day hanging in the air. It’s a practical space. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just the equipment and the pallets. The floors are hard and we spend a lot of time on our feet. Ambattur is a long commute for some of us, but this is where the industry is. We’ve seen other businesses come and go in Sidco, but we stay put at D-3. It’s a lot of manual work, checking the batches and making sure the packaging is right before the trucks arrive. Sometimes the humidity makes everything feel heavy, but we just keep moving. Lunch is usually spent sitting on some crates or heading to the little tea stall down the road. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. You wear clothes you don’t mind getting a bit dirty. We just make the food products and get them out the door. It's what we know how to do here. We’ve been in Ambattur for years and the routine at D-3 never really changes much.
