Masa Hotel

Masa Hotel is at No 15/1 on Kennet Lane, right across from the Egmore Railway Station in Chennai. Because of the station, this street never really sleeps. There are always people walking by with suitcases and bags at all hours. Our hotel is a basic building that’s been here for quite some time. We don't have fancy lobbies or velvet carpets. It’s just a straightforward place for people who need a room or a meal while they are traveling. The 600008 area is always congested with cars and rickshaws. You can hear the trains blowing their whistles if you listen closely. The rooms we have are simple. We try to keep them neat, but they aren't luxury suites. It’s a lot of manual work for us, checking people in and making sure the rooms are ready for the next guest. We don't use any corporate language or have big plans to expand. We just stay here and manage the daily business as it comes. The humidity in Chennai can be tough, so we rely on our fans and old coolers. It’s a very local operation. Most of our guests find us because we are so close to the station exit. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us at the front desk and a few helpers. It’s a busy, plain life on Kennet Lane but it is what we do every single day without any fuss.
