Maris Hotel

Maris Hotel is situated at Old No 9, New No 11, on Cathedral Road in Gopalapuram. We are right near the Chola Sheraton Hotel, which is a much bigger and more expensive place than us. Our hotel has been part of this Chennai street for many years. It is an older building, and we have both the old and new numbers on the gate so people don't get lost when they are looking for the address. Cathedral Road is a very busy stretch of road with a lot of trees and heavy traffic throughout the day. We spend our days managing the front desk and making sure the rooms are clean for the people staying with us. We have a lot of regular guests who have been coming here for decades. They seem to like that we are in a central spot like 600086. It is not a flashy place with a swimming pool or a gym. We just have simple rooms with beds and the basic things you need for a stay. The lobby is quite small and we often have to help people with their luggage since the layout is a bit traditional. Sometimes the city sounds from Gopalapuram come inside, but mostly it stays quiet enough for sleep. We keep a close eye on the maintenance because older buildings always seem to need something fixed. Whether it is a leaky tap or a window that won't shut, there is always work.
