Madurai Super Bazaar

Running a place like Madurai Super Bazaar here on Mudichur Road keeps us on our feet all day long. West Tambaram has changed quite a bit since we first opened these doors. We have aisles full of everything you might need for the kitchen, from soap to spices. It's usually a bit of a mess during delivery hours when the boxes are piled up in the middle of the floor. We try to get everything on the shelves before the evening rush starts, but sometimes we just can't keep up. The fans are always humming to keep the heat away, though it still gets stuffy when the shop is full. Most of our staff live nearby, so we all know each other well. We don't do anything too fancy with the displays, just put the stuff where people can find it. Sometimes the billing machine acts up and we have to do things by hand for a bit. It’s a lot of work keeping track of what’s running out. We spend a lot of time talking to the suppliers who pull up their trucks out front. Mudichur Road is always noisy with buses and bikes, so we have to talk a bit louder to be heard over the traffic. It’s just a normal shop for regular people who live around here and need to get their shopping done without any fuss or trouble.
