Harshan Cctv World is right on the ECR in Kottivakkam. We are at number 1/11. Since we are situated on the East Coast Road, there’s always a lot of traffic passing by and the smell of the sea is usually in the air. We sell and fix security cameras for homes and small shops. The shop is filled with different types of lenses, wires, and DVR boxes. It’s not a massive showroom, just a simple place where we keep the stock and test the equipment to make sure it works. People come in wanting to see what’s happening at their front gate while they are away from home. We spend a lot of time explaining how the apps work on their mobile phones so they can see the video. Some days we are out at someone’s house drilling holes in the walls and pulling wires through the ceiling. Other days we are just here behind the counter waiting for customers. Kottivakkam is a busy area, so we get a lot of walk-ins from people driving past. We aren’t experts in every single thing, but we know how these cameras work. We keep the place open pretty late because that’s when people usually finish their own work and have time to stop by. There’s usually some cardboard boxes stacked in the corner because new shipments arrive every week. We try to keep it tidy, but with all the small parts, it’s a bit of a challenge.
