Our office for Kcs Pvt Ltd is at 21/1 Lakshmanan Street in Mahalingapuram. It’s a quiet residential street, which makes for a nice change from the busier parts of the city. We have a small building that we’ve been using for a long time. It’s not a modern glass office; it’s more like a converted house. Inside, it’s a bit of a maze with different rooms for different tasks. We handle a lot of paperwork and digital files every day. There are books and folders stacked up on most of the surfaces. We don't have a receptionist, so if you ring the bell, one of us will just come to the door. We have a small garden out front that someone tries to look after, though it’s mostly just a few hardy plants. We take our breaks together and usually someone goes out to get tea for everyone. It’s a very informal workplace. We don't have big meetings with slides. We just sit around and talk about what needs to be done next. The street is lined with trees, so it stays a bit cooler than the main roads. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for years. Most of the people around here know us. We aren't looking to become a giant corporation. We just want to keep doing our work in a place that feels comfortable and familiar to all of us.
