About Karpagam International Hotel – Hotels, Motel & Resorts in Chennai
Mylapore is always buzzing, and being right near the Kapaleeswar Temple means we are right in the thick of it. Our building is on South Mada Street, and you can hear the temple bells and the flower sellers from the windows. It’s a busy part of Chennai, and it never really stays quiet for long. We’ve been here at number 41 for quite some time. The hotel is a bit old-fashioned, but it’s clean and it’s right where people want to be. Most of our guests are here to visit the temple or are in town for the music season. We don’t have any of those fancy elevators that talk to you or big sprawling lobbies. It’s just a straightforward place to stay. The rooms are basic, with fans that hum and curtains that have seen a few summers. In the mornings, the smell of coffee from the nearby stalls drifts in, and the street gets crowded with people heading for darshan. We spend our day checking people in and out and telling them where the local shops are. It’s a lot of work keeping an old building running in this heat, but we’re used to it by now. It’s just a simple hotel for people who want to be close to the heart of Mylapore culture. We don't have much, but we have a good spot. I guess that's why people keep coming.
