Jsm Sea Foods is up on the 3rd floor of No. 290, right on Purasaiwakkam High Road. It’s a busy building in a very busy part of Chennai. Being on the 3rd floor means we are doing a lot of trips up and down or waiting for the lift when we need to get things moving. Purasaiwakkam is always crowded, so just getting to work in the morning can be a bit of a challenge with the traffic and the noise. We deal with seafood exports and local trade. It’s mostly paperwork and coordinating with the docks. We aren't a big flashy company. The office is functional and maybe a bit cluttered with files and ledgers. We’ve been operating from here for a while now. We know the high road like the back of our hands. It’s a noisy place to work, but you get used to the sounds of the street below. We don't really do the whole corporate culture thing. We just focus on getting the seafood from the coast to the people who need it. There are a few of us here every day, making calls and checking on shipments. Sometimes things get delayed at the port, and we have to stay late to fix it. It’s not always easy, but we stick with it. We just do our thing and try to keep everything moving without making too much of a fuss about it.
