Jingalala Fish Market Private Limited

We are located right over in Mugappair West, on Sairam Street in Paneer Nagar, which is at No.24. Jingalala Fish Market Private Limited isn't exactly a quiet place to work, but that is how a fish market usually is. We deal with the daily catch and try to get things moved along as fast as possible so everything stays where it should be. The floors stay wet and the smell of the sea is pretty much stuck in our clothes by the end of the shift. Chennai can get really hot, so we spend a lot of time managing ice and making sure the crates are stacked right. It is a lot of physical labor, lifting boxes and sorting through what comes in from the coast. People in the neighborhood know the building because it’s a busy spot in the mornings. We aren't trying to be a fancy supermarket chain or anything. We are just a local market team doing what we do every single day. Some of us have been working with fish since we were kids, so it’s just second nature now. It is a bit loud and messy sometimes, but that’s just how the business works here. We keep it simple and focus on getting the work done before the sun gets too high in the sky.
