Jar 'V' Tools

Out here on Vekanandar Street in Ambal Nagar, things move at their own speed. Jar 'V' Tools is located at 4-A. It’s a quiet enough street compared to the main parts of Ekkaduthangal. The shop is mostly full of heavy iron and steel tools. They are cold to the touch in the morning but get warm as the day goes on. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. Most people just find us because they live nearby or someone told them we have what they need. It’s a practical business. We deal with people who work with their hands. Sometimes the rain gets a bit much and we have to move everything back from the doorway. The shelves are wooden and a bit warped from the weight of the wrenches and hammers. I usually sit near the front so I can see who is coming. It’s not a corporate office with cubicles. It’s just a room full of tools and a few light bulbs. We keep things simple. If a tool works, it works. That’s the only thing that matters to us and the people who walk in. Ekkaduthangal is changing, but our little corner on Vekanandar Street stays pretty much the same. We like it that way. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy enough to stay out of trouble. There is always something that needs sorting.
