Janani Impex is over on Dr. Durai Samy Road at No. 31-A. If you know T. Nagar, you know it gets really crowded around here, especially on the weekends. Our place is tucked into one of the older buildings. We handle a lot of different goods coming in and going out. It is mostly boxes and paperwork everywhere you look. We have a small office and some storage space in the back. It’s not a shop where you walk in and browse shelves. Usually, it's just phones ringing and people checking on deliveries. We’ve been in this spot for several years now. The stairs up to the office are a bit narrow and steep. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time parking on the street because it’s so narrow. We just have to manage. There are about four of us working here daily. We drink a lot of coffee to keep going when the shipments are late. It’s a lot of logistics and talking to people on the phone. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just calendars and some old maps. It gets pretty loud with the street traffic right outside the window. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. It’s a busy life but it pays the bills. We don't have a lot of free time but we make the most of it.
