Iyyanar Provision Store

Started the shop a few years ago here in Ram Nagar North, Madipakkam. It’s on Sundara Rajan Salai, right at 1438A. People around here know us because we’ve been around for a while. Mostly it is just us working here every day from morning till night. We keep the usual things people need for their kitchens like rice, dhal, and oil. The space isn't very big but we try to keep it organized so people can find what they want. Sometimes it gets crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming back from work. We just do our thing, weighing items and packing them up in covers. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the traffic go by on the street. It’s a quiet area mostly, but the road gets busy. We don’t have fancy shelves or anything, just the regular wooden ones we’ve had since the start. There is always some cleaning to do because of the dust from the road. We know most of the people who come in by their names or at least their faces. It is just a normal provision store serving the local families around Madipakkam. We open early in the morning because many people want milk or bread before they head out. It’s a lot of work staying on your feet all day but that is how it is. We just keep things simple here and do our work.
