We've been at No. 10 on First Main Road in Chennai for a long time now. People around here know India Piston Ltd mostly because of the noise and the parts we handle every day. It gets hot in the workshop, especially during the summer months in Tamil Nadu, but we just keep going. We deal with all sorts of piston work. It isn’t fancy at all. There are oily rags around and heavy machinery that’s seen better days, but it does what it’s supposed to. My dad used to say that as long as the engines are running, we have a job to do. We don't spend much on office chairs or nice paint. Most of the time is spent on the floor checking sizes and making sure things fit right. If you come by the shop, you’ll see us in our work clothes. We don't really have a big reception area or anything like that. It’s just a place where things get made and fixed. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the traffic on the main road, but that’s just how Chennai is. We just try to get the orders out so people can get their vehicles back on the road. It’s a lot of metal and sweat, to be honest. We’ve stayed in this same spot while the city changed around us. Nothing too complicated about it. We are just a local bunch working with metal.
