Hotel Welbeck Residency

Hotel Welbeck Residency is located down in Tamilnadu, India. It’s a place that feels a bit different from the big cities like Delhi or Mumbai. The air is different here and the pace of life is a lot slower, which we actually quite like. Our building is easy to spot and we try to keep the front looking decent for the people arriving. Inside, we have rooms that we clean every single day. The staff here mostly speaks the local language, but we get by with English when travelers come through. We spend a lot of our time making sure the kitchen has enough food and that the bathrooms are working right. It’s a lot of physical work, like carrying bags and changing sheets. We don’t have a big marketing department writing things for us. We just tell people where the nearest sights are and how to get to the station. Sometimes the monsoon rains make the roof leak a little bit, so we have to go up there and fix it. It’s a very practical life we lead here in Tamilnadu. We aren’t trying to be the fanciest place around, just a reliable one where you can get a good night’s sleep. Most of us have worked here for a long time and we know each other's families. It's just how we do things at the residency. We hope the ceiling fan keeps you cool at night.
