Down here on Kambar Street in Balakrishnanagar, we are tucked away from the main rush of Chennai. Our building at 8/26 isn't hard to find if you’re from Thiruvottiyur. It’s a local neighborhood vibe through and through. The salt air from the coast sometimes makes things rust a bit faster, so we’re always wiping down the equipment at Hcl Infosystems Ltd. The office is basically a room full of computers and some storage shelves that we probably overfilled months ago. We don't really do the whole corporate image thing. Most days, we’re in short sleeves because of the heat, just trying to keep the systems running. There’s a lot of coming and going, mostly with deliveries or people dropping off items for us to check. We have a routine that involves a lot of coffee—the strong South Indian kind—and plenty of talk about the local traffic. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s what we do. The street outside can get a bit muddy when it rains, and we often have to remind people to leave their shoes by the door if they’ve been walking through it. We just focus on the technical side of the business and making sure the logs are updated. It’s a steady rhythm that suits us just fine here in this part of Chennai, even when the humidity makes everything feel a bit sticky. We just take it one day at a time.
