2D/3D Autocad Designs

No. 19 Yaseen Khan Street in Pallavaram is where we do all our work. It’s a narrow street and parking a car is almost impossible, so most of us come by bike. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of computer fans humming and mouse clicks. We do 2D/3D Autocad Designs, which means we spend hours staring at monitors and moving lines around. The lighting in the office is a bit dim because it helps see the screens better, but it probably isn't great for our eyes in the long run. Pallavaram can get quite noisy with the traffic and the planes overhead, but once we put our headphones on, we don't notice it much. We have a small pantry where we keep a kettle for making instant coffee when we have to stay late to finish a drawing. The walls are covered in old printouts and notes scribbled on napkins. It’s not a corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a room with enough power outlets for our machines. Sometimes the software crashes and we lose a few minutes of work, which usually leads to someone swearing under their breath. We deal with architects and builders who are always in a hurry, so there’s a lot of pressure to get the dimensions exactly right. It’s tedious work but someone has to do it, and we have gotten used to the long hours and the flickering screens.
