H. J. R. Tools Mart

H. J. R. Tools Mart is at No. 101 Prakasam Salai in the Broadway area. Broadway is famous for being the place where you can find any tool or hardware item if you look long enough. Our shop is packed from floor to ceiling with shelves. Sometimes it feels like if you pulled out one wrench, the whole wall might come down, but we know where everything is hidden. It is a small space for the amount of stuff we keep, so it gets a bit tight when more than two customers come in at once. We spend our days climbing ladders or digging through boxes to find that one specific size someone needs. The street outside is always a mess of cycles and people, and the noise never really stops until we close up at night. We don't have a website or a marketing department; we just have a counter and a lot of knowledge about tools. Most of our customers have been coming to us for years because they know we usually have what they are looking for in some corner of the shop. It is dusty and cluttered, and there is always a layer of oil on the tools to keep them from rusting. It is just a simple, old-fashioned tool shop where we work hard and try to help people find what they need for their own jobs.
